Up for Adventure

Traveling and exploring countries is how Aleksandra Mandic-Killy charges her batteries. From Japan to Chile, India to Senegal, Vietnam to Mexico and Brazil, she only buys a plane ticket and makes a general itinerary. Places she visits and people she meets really decide themselves on the pace of the voyage and the unfolding of the details…

Her country of residence is Europe but she feels at home almost everywhere.  Having lived in Belgrade, Ljubljana, Budapest, Brighton and Paris, and fluent in Serbian, English and French, Aleks revels in the subtle and vast differences in global cultures.

Bold New Worlds

In the mid-nineties, with two other adventurous women, she launched the Publicis agency in Belgrade; building it from scratch with no budget and winning every single client on pitches. Today, Publicis is one of the best agencies in Serbia, and across the world.

In her 15 year-long advertising and communications experience, she worked on brands perceived as local everywhere they where launched: Coca-Cola, L’Oréal, Tefal to name a few. Aleks helped L’Oréal make its foray into the Asian market, creating communications with local flavour: working with local creative teams, local stars and local directors.

Always ready to experience new things, she likes diving and parachute jumping.

Storytelling

Whether it is Kubrick, Coppola, Kusturica or Shakespeare, Dostoievski, Selimovic, she marvels like a child when watching or reading a great story. Admiring visual and verbal virtuosity, films and reading are her favourite hobbies.

Of Serbian origin, being a young adult during the 1990s in the Balkans was living an important chapter in history, one very intense and life-changing. Today, she loves her hometown of Belgrade, and is proud of the growth and evolution Serbia now displays in diverse and rich ways.

Spontaneous and Natural

Aleks met her future husband in the Etoile metro station at 10 am one Friday morning. She had just noticed this cute guy looking at her from across the train car, and his persistence at asking to spend time with her really paid off. They had coffee together and never split again — married 3 years later, she’s spent every minute since they met in absolute happiness. Recently proud parents, Aleks and her husband are a committed green household: she’s always striving to improve our future (and her child’s) with greener measures.
